POLICE ARRESTED MIDWIFE WHO ALLEGEDLY SWAPPED NEWBORN BABY WITH A DEAD ONE IN OGUN STATE

This reportedly happened at a hospital in Ifo, Ogun state. A midwife is being accused of exchanging a newborn baby with a dead one, and has refused to own up to her actions even after the Police and community elders got involved. A friend of the new mother cried out via Instagram, narrating what happened. She wrote;

"My family friend delivered her baby by around 5pm. The mother in law was asked to go home to get cloths. When she returned with her son the doctor/midwife had left the hospital immediately after her delivery ask informed them by d two nurses on ground. The nurses wouldn't account for d whereabout of d newly born.  

The husband raised alarm. Community chairman, elders with the youth went to Ifo police, visited the place of delivery and only found the placenta and only one of d room was locked. The midwife was spoken with around 10pm after several calls and she admitted d baby was fine and alive. 

"The search team left the place around 11.30pm after waiting for d midwife who didn't show up. The next morning 28th, they went back to that police station, that was when i was contacted. Then the woman was around there. We all went back to d hospital and in one of the rooms already searched, a dead baby was found which she claimed have been in d building all thru 27th. She said d baby was dead at birth. 

"The locked room was opened and money of different denominations were found she also has d building construction going on behind the clinic. The elders within her community claimed she came back to d clinic by 1am and showed them the dead baby. D DCO Ifo said while he and his team searched d clinic no baby was found. The dead body have been taken to mortuary for autopsy, the wicked must not go unpunished."

A week after a bomb went off killing 22 people in Manchester, Ariana Grande is planning a return to the city.

This Sunday, June 4, 2017 the American singer will return to headline a memorial concert for victims of the Manchester terror attacks and she'll be joined by several of her superstar Friends. And very penny of profit from the concert will go to victims of the Manchester bombing.

The line-up includes; Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.  The concert will be held at the Old Trafford cricket ground, with supporting acts like Pharrell Williams, Usher, Take That and One Direction’s Niall Horan.  

Greater Manchester police’s chief constable, Ian Hopkins, said plans were being worked out for the singer to stage the concert about a week after the attack, to raise money for the victims and their families. He said he was “fairly confident” the event would go ahead.

TWO DAYS AFTER WINNING THE GERMAN CUP, BORUSSIA DORTMUND SACKS COACH THOMAS TUCHEL

German Football club, Borussia Dortmund have sacked their cup-winning coach Thomas Tuchel.

The 43-year-old, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp at the club has only just led his team to win the German Cup last weekend, but his tenure has been cut short after reports of a strained relationship with the club’s board.

The official statement from the club reads;

We would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff for the sporting success they have brought to BVB, which reached a deserved climax last Saturday when the club beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Cup final in Berlin. 

We wish Thomas Tuchel nothing but the best for his future professional endeavours.  As an employer, Borussia Dortmund will not comment in detail on the reasons behind the separation, which is the result of a longer process and is supported by all the club committees. For the good of all parties involved, we ask for understanding for our wish that no conclusions be drawn on the basis of rumours or without any background information.  

BVB attaches great importance to the fact that the cause of the separation is by no means a disagreement between two persons. The well-being of the club Borussia Dortmund, which is much more than just sporting success, will always be more important than individuals and any differences that may exist between them.

WICKEDNESS!!!! WOMAN LOCKS HOUSEMAID IN TOILET FOR 20 DAYS

Oyinyen Chuks, 34, was on Tuesday charged at Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State with locking up her 14-year old housemaid in a toilet for 20 days.

Chuks, a trader, who resides at 19, Ojo St., Shasha, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a four-count charge bordering on assault

The prosecutor, Sgt. Raphael Donny, told the court that the offences were committed between May 2 and May 22 at the residence of the accused.

Donny said that the accused alleged that the housemaid stole her money and beat her mercilessly.

“The accused locked the girl inside her toilet, fed her once and didn’t allow her to take a bath or change her clothes for those weeks in bondage.

“It was one of the neighbours who could not bear the torment anymore that informed the police”, he said.

The prosecutor said that following the report, the police visited the house and found the girl in the condition.

“Hence, the accused was arrested while the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment”, Donny said.

The offences, he said, contravened Sections 171, 207, 245 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

However, Chuks pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against her.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Davies Abegunde, granted the accused N1million bail with two sureties in like sum.

Abegunde ordered the accused to pay N200,000 into the Court Registrar ‘s account as part of the bail conditions.

She adjourned the case until June 21 for mention.
