MANCHESTER UNITED REACH FIRST EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL IN CLUB'S HISTORY

Manchester United edged past Spanish visitor Celta Vigo at Old Trafford to set up the club’s first ever Europa League final appearance against Dutch giants Ajax.

The English Football League Cup winners went into the match with a 1-0 lead from the first leg in Spain and took a vital lead at the Theather of dreams after Marouane Fellaini headed home Marcus Rashford‘s cross.

But Celta, needing two goals, levelled on the night through Facundo Roncaglia to set up a tensed final few minutes.

United’s Eric Bailly and Roncaglia were sent off after a mass brawl as the hosts joined Ajax in the final.

The aggregate victory took the Red Devils a step closer to their first ever Europa League triumph and a return to the UEFA Champions League.

They will meet Ajax, who beat Lyon 4-5 on aggregate in the other semi-final, in Stockholm on 24 May.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo today gave some glimpses into the personal and official relationships he has shared with President Muhammadu Buhari.

On a visit to Katsina to launch the state’s Micro, Small and Medium Scale  Enterprises Clinic, Prof. Osinbajo disclosed that the President had been treating him as a brother and son.

He stated that the responsibilities Buhari gave him are proofs that he seriously believes that we can live as brothers in this country.

The Acting President who earlier paid a visit to the Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, also spoke about his close relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari at the palace reception.

One of the reasons why I feel very much at home in Katsina State is because this is the State of our President, President Muhammadu Buhari, who has taken me more like a brother; in fact sometimes more like a son than a Vice President.”

He commended the Government and people of Katsina State for being a role model in terms of peaceful co-existence of all ethnic tribes and religions in the State.

At the launch of the Katsina State’s MSMES Clinic,  Osinbajo averred that the Federal Government’s newly launched Economic Recovery & Growth Plan (EGRP) places high premium on the nation’s capacity to grow it’s export potentials rather than continue on the unsustainable path of total dependence on import.

He said the focus of the Plan is to develop “the capacity of Nigerians to do everything that we need internally; to become a net exporter of the various things that we are importing today.”

Explaining Federal Government’s reason for the inauguration of the MSMEs Clinics that is now going round major cities in the country, Prof Osinbajo stated that it was designed to give small businesses the opportunity to meet with the industry regulators, to talk to them and to hear their problems.

He explained that the idea of the MSMES clinics which he has personally attended for the fourth time now is the Buhari administration’s effort to close the gap between MSMES and relevant FG regulatory agencies like NAFDAC, CAC, SON, BOI, FIRS and others and ensure that those agencies become facilitators of businesses not obstacles to business development.

Prof Osinbajo who declared the MSMEs Clinic open in absential of the President due to a follow-up on his medicals,  was accompanied to Katsina by the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajia Aisha Abubakar, Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, Babatunde Fowler and Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu.

TRAGIDY AS WITNESS SUMPS,VOMITE BLOOD AND DIES IN LAGOS COURT

There was drama at an Ikeja High Court today after a witness who was scheduled to testify in a Land dispute case, suddenly slumped, started vomiting and then died within the court premises.

According to reports, the witness said to be in his 30s, was inside the court room waiting for the case involving him to be called up when he started to cough severely and gasping for air.

He walked out of the court premises to catch his breath but instead of it subsiding, the cough continued. He collapsed on the floor of the corridor of the court and started to vomit blood.

A team of medical doctors later came in with an ambulance to remove his body. His lawyer later told the presiding judge, Justice O.A Olayinka that the witness had been certified dead.

Justice Olayinka immediately stopped all proceedings earlier scheduled for the day.

74 YEARS OLD MEDICAL DOCTOR COMMITS SUICIDE IN ABIA

A 74 year-old medical doctor simply identified as Dr. Mbakwe reportedly shot himself with a gun at his home in Aba, Abia State. According to reports, frustration might have led him to carry out the act as he had been bedridden with an undisclosed illness that has spanned over 30 years.

The family has reported the matter to the Abayi Police Division and his remains have been deposited at the state mortuary.

BROTHER JEKWE GOING GLOBAL,PLAN TO COLLABORATE WITH STARS FROM POLAND

Following the success of his first movie, Brother Jekwu, Nollywood actor, Mike Ezuruonye is taking Nollywood by storm with his next project ‘Creek Heart’ by collaborating with stars from Poland.

The actor who was recently in Poland and was interviewed by the popular polish TV channel, TVP2 has successfully warmed his way into the hearts of European movie watchers and has gotten a deal to distribute the movie all across Europe.

The distribution deal signed for the movie is with specifics to Cinema Showings in Europe.  Also as part of this collaboration, the European production crew of about fourteen will collaborate with some of ours for Technical know-how. This European crew has been part of Top rated movies and series including the BORAT and VIKINGS.

His debut movie as a producer ‘Brother Jekwu was in collaboration with Kenyan stars. The comedy merges Kenya and Nigeria in an attempt to showcase each country’s role and uniqueness in African storytelling.

Mike Ezuruonye is an award winning actor who has featured in several Nollywood movies. He received two nominations for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2008, and 2009. He was also nominated for Best actor in Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2015. Mike was recently nominated for the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) as Best Actor in a Drama (TV/Series) for his role in ‘Breathless’.

Speaking about his recent visit to Poland and his new project, the light skinned movie star said

WOMAN DIE 6 WEEKS AFTER WEDDING

Friends and family members have been thrown into mourning following the death of Abuja-based woman, Suzzy Yakubu.

Late Yakubu, a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nassarawa, got married to husband Ajayi Oluwatosin on March 25 and passed away on May 4, after a brief illness. 


She has been laid to rest. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

LADY ALLEGEDLY STAB HER EX BOYFRIEND BECAUSE HE PROPOSE TO ANOTNER GIRL

A lady identified as Boma Mac-pepple, a chorister from Opobo, Rivers state, has allegedly stabbed her ex boyfriend, Nathan Okojaja a.k.a Junior, after he proposed to another lady.

According to the reports online, Junior asked for Boma's hand in marriage but she rejected him. He went on to propose to another lady, and this got Boma angry.
Boma allegedly confronted him and later stabbed him to death.

The incident allegedly happened on May 8th at 10:00 p.m. Also at the time of the incident, the accused shared a photo of the victim on her Facebook page alleging that he is a criminal and on the run.

Today mark 36 years after his death and it's safe to say that his legend, music and impactful message still lives on!

FACEBOOK BEGINS CRACK DOWN WITH SPAM WEBSITES

On Wednesday, Facebook announced plans to start cracking down on links to "low-quality" web pages as part of the company's plan to show people "fewer misleading posts, and more informative posts." Facebook is starting with the ratio of ads to actual content; a page with too many ads and not enough original text or images is considered spam.
If a site's ads are "disruptive, shocking, or malicious," Facebook will make sure fewer people can see and click on it. The company continues to explain that the links aren't being banned; if you post one it will still appear on your wall but their news feed ranking will drop and they will be seen by far fewer people if anyone at all. 

The changes will happen over the next few months, and Facebook says it could mean a boost in traffic for publishers that produce quality content.
