AFTER 17 YEARS OF MARRIAGE BEN STILLER AND HIS WIFE CHRISTINE TAYLOR SEPARATED

Ben Stiller 51, and his wife Christine Taylor, 45, are calling it quits after 17 years of marriage, The couple  announced their separation in a joint statement on Friday. They said:

"With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate". 

"Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends. We kindly ask that the media respect our privacy at this time."

The couple, who met while filming a never-broadcast TV pilot called Heat Vision and Jack, got married in May 2000 at an oceanfront ceremony in Kauai, Hawaii.
Ben Stiller told ET in 2007:

"When I met her, I pretty much thought, 'That's the person'". "It was like, 'Wow, this is a great person. I love her.'"

The couple have two children, daughter Ella Olivia born in April 2002 and son Quinlin Dempsey born in July 2005. 

The couple who have continued to act together in various movies throughout their marriage said they enjoyed working together.

"It's the best. I mean, I think that, you know, the reality is there's such an unspoken connection," Taylor shared. "I feel like for us, when we first met, it was on set... He's amazing." "Having a sense of humor is the secret to our marriage" she continued. "I have to say, sense of humor is the greatest thing." 

"I say that's the secret to a happy marriage anywhere in any city, not just Hollywood," Stiller agreed. "I think you got to laugh, because after a while, you know, life is life. We all have to deal with what life throws at us, so you got to have a sense of humor about it. If you can share that, at the end, it makes a huge difference."

The little boy, identified as Emmanuel was allegedly brutalized by his step father for buying bread instead of cigarette he was sent to buy. According to Basic Right Counsel (BRC) who rescued the boy, his step father inflicted a deep machete cut on his right forearm. He is currently at the Teaching hospital where he is receiving treatment after  the forearm bone got infected. BRC wrote via their Instagram page; 


"This is Emmanuel A 6yrs old boy whose stepfather inflicted deep machete cut on his right forearm bone is receiving treatment. The child's crime was that he bought bread instead of the cigarette he was sent to buy. We sent our rescue team, who took him to General Hospital, The child was later referred from General Hospital to Teaching hospital because the forearm bone is affected and infected."

EL-RUFAI HAS AN INCURABLE KNACK FOR LYING, EVEN HIS FORMAL BOSS OLUSEGUN OBASANJO CONFIRMED IT--GEJ

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai as a liar whose penchant for lying has even been confirmed by his former boss and ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo. Jonathan said this while reacting to a statement made by El-Rufai  at the end of the national economic council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, where he, El-Rufai alleged that Jonathan was partial in the disbursement of the ecological fund while he was in office. 

“What President Goodluck Jonathan did was to take N2 billion each from the ecological fund and gave to some PDP states. Any PDP state that was not his friend, like Kano and Kwara, didn’t get,”El-Rufai had told state house correspondents.  Dismissing El-Rufai's claims, Jonathan in a statement signed by his media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, said there is no truth in El-Rufai's claims.  “That Malam Nasir El-Rufai governor of Kaduna state has an incurable knack for lying has been proven by his own boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo who described el-Rufai in his book-My Watch Volume 2 as follows: ‘Nasir’s penchant for reputation savaging is almost pathological. Why does he do it? He is brilliant and smart. 

I grant him that also. Very early in my interaction with him, I appreciated his talent and brilliance. At the same time, I recognised his weaknesses; the worst being his inability to be loyal to anybody or any issue consistently for long, but only to Nasir el-Rufai. He barefacedly lied which he did to me against his colleagues and so-called friends. 

I have heard of how he ruthlessly savaged the reputation of his uncle, a man who was like, in the African setting, his foster father. I shuddered when I heard the story of what he did to his half-brother in the air force who is senior to him in age. With such a description, we are not surprised at his recent comments after the just concluded national economic council meeting where he accused former President Jonathan of only sharing the national ecological fund to PDP states. It is so easy to expose Malam Nasir El-Rufai as a liar being that Akwa-Ibom, a PDP state governed by the then chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and a close confidante and major supporter of the then president, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, did not get the monies alluded to by Malam El-Rufai from the ecological fund as did multiple other PDP states including Ekiti state, a state governed by a thoroughbred patriot and Jonathan supporter, Ayo Fayose. Also, it is false that non-PDP states did not get monies from the fund. Nemesis catches up faster with liars than any other agent of evil.  El-Rufai was probably led by the gods against his own sinister plot to confess in another breath that states under non-PDP parties like APGA and Labour party also benefitted. 

The fact remains that the ecological fund is a specialised fund with certain constitutional requirements which must be met before a state can access the funds. Every state benefitted from the fund under President Jonathan who bent over backwards to accommodate states that had difficulty meeting the criteria for accessing the fund. El-Rufai’s sinister narrative was intentionally silent on the over N10 billion specially deployed to fund the Great Green Wall (GGW) project in some northern states, in view of the need to work with the rest of Africa on the African initiative to check desert encroachment in the Sahelian states. These states included Zamfara, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina and Adamawa. Others are Yobe, Borno and Kano which belong to Mallam el-Rufai’s class of ‘non-friendly’ states that he alleged never benefitted from any discretionary fund. Similar principle applies to the conditions for accessing the Universal basic Education fund where some states have not had access to what is due them, because they are yet to fulfill the mandatory criteria for allocation. Would it then be right in the name of el-Rufai’s position on equity to blame the failure of those states to access their UBEC funds on Jonathan? Nigerians may recall that this is not the first time that el-Rufai has vented his known passion for lying against the former President.  

The public will recall that in October 2015 he falsely alleged that former President Jonathan spent a whopping N64 billion on Independence Day celebrations, during his tenure when in fact only N333 million was spent. Nigerians may also recall that this same El-Rufai falsely accused former President Jonathan and former CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of founding and funding Boko Haram to the tune of N50 billion.”

OSINBAJO FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS ON COMMENCEMENT OF RAMADAN

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, felicitates with the entire Muslim community in Nigeria as they join other faithfuls across the world to commence Ramadan,  the holy month of fasting and prayer. In a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to acting president Yemi Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, the Acting President implores Muslims to seek maximum benefits from the Ramadan period by replicating the teachings of the Holy Prophet in all their engagements; private and public.

Part of the statement reads:

Prof. Osinbajo appeals to all Nigerians especially Muslims to also use the period of Ramadan for reflection on our national challenges and join forces with the Buhari administration to overcome them. Being a period of spiritual perseverance, temperance, introspection and retrospection with the Almighty Allah, the Acting President urges Muslims to use the Ramadan to renew their commitments to the virtues of love and peace taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and also work towards achieving them. 

While calling on Nigerians to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari, and the nation in general, Prof. Osinbajo urges Muslim faithfuls to also remember the less privileged in the society during the special period and wishes all Muslims a blessed Ramadan.

US JAILS 3 NIGERIAN SCAMMERS FOR 235 YEARS

Three Nigerian scammers have been given jail sentences for defrauding victims they met on dating sites of tens of millions of dollars.

Oladimeji Seun Ayelotan, 30, was sentenced to 95 years in prison; Rasaq Aderoju Raheem, 31, was sentenced to 115 years and Femi Alexander Mewase, 45, got 25 years in prison, according to a report by Infosecurity Magazine. That brings it to a total of 235 years in prison.

They were tried and found guilty by a court in the Southern District of Mississippi. Their crimes include; identity theft, mail, credit card, and wire fraud; and theft of government property.

Ayelotan and Raheem were also found guilty of conspiracies to commit bank fraud and money laundering. 

The scammers have reportedly been carrying out their operations as far back as 2001. They were part of a string of scams against Americans, facilitated by internet communications. They got involved in what is popularly called 419, where their victims are promised a massive amount in return for making some payments into the criminals' accounts.  The criminals did not stop there but went even further.

They reportedly befriend women on dating sites, start a romantic relationship and then either get them to send money or have them participate in fraud schemes, usually without the victim’s knowledge. Sometimes the unsuspecting women were made to cash counterfeit checks or use stolen credit cards to buy things. They were used to launder money via Western Union and the likes.

They were also accused of running romance stings to steal from lonely people, shipping fraud, running fake work-from-home businesses, check fraud, and hijacking other people’s bank accounts and credit cards to divert funds.

21 defendants have already been charged in the case, which is still ongoing. 12 of whom have pleaded guilty to charges involving conspiracy and 11 of whom have been sentenced. 

NYESO WIKE VOWS TO RECLAIM $43M FOUND IN IKOYI APARTMENT, INSISTS IT BELONG TO THE STATE GOVERMENT

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has declared that his administration will recover the state funds found at an Ikoyi residence despite the antics of the Federal Government. Speaking during a special appearance on Channels Television today, Governor Wike reiterated that the money stashed at the Ikoyi residence which was found in April by EFCC operatives, belongs to the people of Rivers State.

He said the state team of lawyers are already working to ensure that Rivers State gets back her funds which are proceeds from the sale of the assets of the state.

Recall that Governor Wike had a press conference explained that the Ikoyi funds were proceeds from the sale of the assets of the state government, by the immediate past Amaechi administration.

"We will follow due process of the law to get back Rivers State money found at the Ikoyi residence. This money belongs to the Rivers State people. We have conducted out checks. We will stun Nigeria with this matter. We will come out with our evidence at the appropriate time".

The governor said that the state government will not reveal its strategy to recover the state because of the games being played by the APC Federal Government.

He said that the politicization of the entire issue of the Rivers State fund discovered at the Ikoyi residence, indicate that the Federal Government has a something to hide.

On the PDP crisis, Governor Wike stated that he is supporting Makarfi and that he will wait for the Supreme Court to state its position. The governor declared that it is very much unlikely that he will work with Ali Modu Sheriff.

He said:

"It is very much unlikely that I will work with Ali Modu Sheriff. It is not possible for me to stay with Sheriff ."

The governor explained that Sheriff has no love for the PDP as he has continued to work against the party, in liaison with the APC. The governor alleged that in Benue and Jigawa States APC Government to frustrate the PDP in upcoming Local Government elections.

On developments in Rivers State, the governor noted that his administration has entrenched statewide execution of projects. He said projects have been initiated and executed in 22 out of the 23 Local Government Areas of the state. Governor Wike said that only local government area, Omuma, yet to have a project, now has a major road contract awarded in the area.

He said that his administration is developing Rivers State as a tourism destination of the country. He said the construction of the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park is a deliberate action to promote tourism.

The governor regretted that Rivers State and other Niger Delta states are losing revenue because oil companies pay their taxes in Lagos, while they operate in the region.

On Rivers at 50, he said that the state has made tremendous progress. He said that the state appreciates God for being together despite the challenges

TROOPS BURST EVOLVING BOKO HARAM TERROR CELL IN NIGER STATE , ARREST 3 LEADERS

Troops of 31 Artillery Brigade Nigerian Army, on Thursday 25th May 2017, raided an evolving Boko Haram terrorists cell at Mokwa and its environs in Niger State.

A statement signed by Army spokesperson, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, said the raid and subsequent bursting of the cell followed a painstaking surveillance that led to the arrest of the 3 leaders of the cell, Mustapha Muhammed (Adam Bitri), Ali Saleh and Uba Mohammed at their hideout at Gidan Mai village, along Mokwa-Tegina road.

Preliminary investigation has confirmed that one of the terrorists, Mustapha Muhammed (Adam Bitri), was among the group of the Boko Haram terrorists that kidnapped the late elder statesman, Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno, in Maiduguri on 13th May 2013 along with one Bakura (at large).

Items recovered from them include Automated Teller Machines debit cards, Voters Registration cards, National Identity Cards, various mobile telephone handsets and Bank tellers, among other items.

The terrorists are currently being further interrogated.

A little girl is full of questions about American politics and she bombarded her mother with them. In an adorable series of Instagram videos that her mother posted online, Taylor asked her mother questions about where Obama went, why he had to leave, and so many others.

She looked really curious and her facial expression as she asked those questions is another thing that got people to love the video.


Her mother shared the video and wrote in the caption, “This all started because she wanted to know, Where did Barack Obama go? And where is the president’s house. She is still mad.”

The little girl started by asking: “Where did Barack Obama go? Why do we have another president? So, why did he go? Where did he go? So, why do we have the president we have now at the same spot (Obama) was and why did he leave it anyway?”

Her mother responded patiently: “Because a president can only serve two terms…”

But Taylor didn't seem convinced.

“But, how come Hillary (Clinton) did not get to be the president and why is she the loser? And what are they even supposed to be winning?”Taylor asked.

Her mother replied: "They get to be the president of the United States."

Her mother went on to explain to her that it was Donald Trump who now lives in the White House. Taylor seemed exasperated with that answer and threw her hands in the air, saying:

 “But why does he have to live there?”

“Where do you want him to live?” her mother asked.

“I want him to live somewhere else,” Taylor said. “I don’t want him living in Texas!”

Is the White House now in Texas? Lol.

In the last video, the mother got tired and simply told her that it's a long story. The girl than asked to join her mother in watching the news so she can know as much as her mother does.

MARK ZUCKERBERG VISITS HIS OLD ROOM IN HARVARD UNIVERSITY

Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard during his sophomore year to focus on Facebook but recently went back to receive an honorary degree awarded him by the prestigious institution and also to give the commencement speech.

Once there he went on a tour of his old dorm room where Facebook was conceived and took his followers with him via Facebook live.


The billionaire can be seen in the video standing in front of his room before he went inside. He showed off the interior of the room saying: 

"The room looks a little bit different from what it looked like when I was here but it's actually mostly the same."

He then showed off the desk where he sat when he programmed Facebook.

"This is where I programmed Facebook,” he recalled as he gestured toward a desk. “It took about two weeks."

RESIGN NOW OR FACE IMPEACHMENT--KOGIAPC LEADER TELL GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO

Federal lawmakers, state chairman and other top members of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi state have asked for the immediate resignation of Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello over his double registration during the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration.

The Kogi APC chieftains led by Senator Dino Melaye held a press briefing in Abuja where they commended the INEC for detecting the double registration by Governor Bello.


The political leaders called for the immediate resignation of Yahaya Bello or else they would mobilize their members in the Kogi state House of Assembly to begin an immediate impeachment process. Yesterday, INEC released a statement accusing the state governor of performing an illegal act by registering twice for a voters card.

Yahaya had first registered on January 30th 2011 in Wuse, Abuja and then did another registration for the second time on Tuesday May 23rd 2017 in the government House, Lokoja. INEC says no electoral staff was asked to register him.

ROTIMI AMAECHI REJECTS AWARD GIVEN TO HIM BY NYESO WIKE, SAYS IS A POISONED CHALICE

Minister of Transport and former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has rejected the Grand Service Star of Rivers State award his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, is expected to confer on him tomorrow May 27th.

Yesterday, LIB reported that as part of activities to mark the 50th year celebration of the state, Governor Nyesom Wike put together an award ceremony where past leaders of the state will be awarded for the development they brought to the state when they were in office.

Amongst the past leaders penned down for such honor was Amaechi. Recall that both men have remained political rivals for many years now.

In a statement released today, Amaechi described Wike's award as a poisoned Chalice. According to him, he has not received a letter from the state government inviting him to the award ceremony.

In the past couple of days, Minister of Transportation and immediate past governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been inundated with calls and enquiries from journalists about a purported award/honour to him from Nyesom Wike, the current governor of Rivers State.

The minister was shown a publication of the Rivers State government indicating his name as one of many others to be given awards by Nyesom Wike. But as at today, Amaechi has not received any communication from Nyesom Wike and/or Rivers State government in this respect. Be that as it may, we want to state categorically that whatever Wike claims to be giving to Amaechi is a poisoned chalice that has been unequivocally rejected by the minister.

Firstly, the purported award itself is a contradiction of monumental proportions, a contradiction that can only come from a warped and perverted mind. From day one as governor, Wike has made it his sole, one-point agenda to attack, abuse, insult and falsely denigrate Amaechi, his immediate predecessor and erstwhile benefactor.

Since he became governor, Wike spends most of his time making reckless, deeply irresponsible malicious, false allegations against Amaechi, as he attempts, albeit fruitlessly, to malign and destroy the outstandingly superb performance and legacy of Amaechi in Rivers State. So, what is the bases or criteria for Wike to give an award/honour to a man he (Wike) has rashly attacked and called all sorts of unprintable names in the past two years?

For Wike to do a 360 and give an award to a predecessor, he (Wike) has consistently but misleadingly and deceitfully called Satan, Judas, non-performer, thief and only this week a sponsor of cultists, shows evidently that Wike suffers from a grave but rare form of psychosomatic malady.

Secondly, what will Amaechi tell Rivers People when he goes to collect an award from that man-child who sits in Government House that is directly or indirectly responsible for the present deplorable state of sufferings, economic and infrastructural decay, violence, crime, insecurity, kidnappings and killings in Rivers State. Amaechi will not accept any award from a petty lowlife conman, who rode to power on the blood of Rivers people.

Thirdly, the office of governor of any state is a prestigious, very dignified office and the occupant of that office who holds it in trust for his people is expected to act, talk and behave responsibly and decorously.

When the governor talks, he should talk with facts and must be able to prove his claims. Most unfortunately for Rivers State, Wike possess non of these qualities. Wike is everything a governor should not be, with virtually no redeeming qualities. Amaechi will not accept any award from this kind of lying, reckless, irresponsible and brutal character that has become the laughing stock of the nation.

Finally, We will not relent to remind Wike and insist that he must go to court, like he vowed, to prove his frivolous claims that the over $43million Ikoyi money and luxury apartment (found by EFCC), belongs to Amaechi and were stolen from Rivers State by Amaechi; or be ready to face the wrath of the law at the appropriate time; the wrath of the people and ultimately the wrath of God, which no constitutional immunity can protect him from.

The only other alternative is for him to publicly apologize and tell us that he wickedly and maliciously lied when he had that disgraceful, middle of the night press conference to push the false narrative that Amaechi owns the money and apartment.
