RRS RESCUE BOYS FLEEING ABUJA, REUNITES THEM WITH THEIR PARENTS
The operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command on Monday last week rescued two teenagers fleeing the Abuja abodes of their parents and re-united them with their parents on Friday May 19th.
The teenagers, Chidubem Amaechi, 13, and Chinedu Onyebuchi, 13, were rescued by the RRS operatives on Monday morning after alighting from an Abuja bus at Ojodu-Berger, Lagos.
The teenagers were sighted by the officers wandering around Ojodu-Berger before they were invited for questioning. The children had lied to the officers during interrogations that they were kidnapped and blindfolded before they were driven to Lagos by their abductors.
They added that they escaped from their abductors while they (the abductors) were sleeping under the bridge before Ogun-Lagos long bridge. Inquisitive, the officer moved the boys to the RRS Headquarters, where an investigation into their kidnapping was launched immediately. While the investigations were on, officers suspected the children were lying about the kidnapping story.
Their parents, who have been looking for the boys in Abuja since Sunday, May 14, 2017, were shocked when contacted that their children were in custody of Rapid Response Squad, Lagos. It took three days of questioning before, Chidubem Amaechi opened up that he and Chinedu Onyebuchi connived to leave Abuja because of the poor states of their parents.
According to Amaechi, “we noticed that our parents were suffering in order to take of care us. We decided to come to Lagos and work for sometimes. Whatever we were able to raise in six months, we would handover to our parents for them to start business. We realised that the hardship was too much and that we would be helping them if we leave our families in Abuja in search of better opportunities in Lagos, he stressed. Amaechi added, I brought my N4,200:00 savings while Chinedu added N500 as transport fare to Lagos. We were already in Lagos before we realised that we were simply being stupid. We were wandering about when the officer invited us for questioning”.
The Commander, Rapid Response Squad, ACP Olatunji Disu, who received the parents of the teenagersJj on the fifth day of being in the Command’s custody in his office, appealed to parents and guardian to monitor and take good care of their wards. The boys were re-united and released to their parents on Friday after they had promised not to repeat their actions again.

FANI-KAYODE; SOUTH/MIDDLE BELT GROUP WARN NORTHERN YOUTH
Youths from Southern and Middle Belt parts of Nigeria under the aegis of SAMBAY have sent a stern warning to Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) that nothing must happen to Femi Fani-Kayode for speaking for the people of the regions against what they termed Muhammadu Buhari’s ‘tyrannous’ leadership.
SAMBAY’ statement was in response to an earlier warning by ACF that Fani-Kayode should forthwith desist from criticising President Buhari and northern elders or incur its wrath.
However, in a statement jointly signed by Fidelis Ujah (Middle Belt), Onyema Ukachukwu (South East) and Mustapha Olasubomi (South West) after an emergency meeting on Sunday, SAMBAY cautioned that the ACF cannot intimidate Fani-Kayode for making a critique of the President Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
“We wonder where these Arewa Youths have been all this while that their cousins, the Fulani herdsmen terrorists, have been killing citizens with impunity in Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau and such other states. They never condemned them because they do not see people from these parts as one of them except for election purposes. Even in Southern Kaduna that is further up north, indigenes were killed without these Arewa saying anything.
“We find their silence on these issues most reprehensible and signs of deep-seated hatred for other parts of the country.

“It is based on this that we have come together to say NEVER will we allow anything untoward to happen to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who has been speaking up for us and our people against the tyranny and despotism of the Buhari administration and his Hausa/Fulani disciples.
“We have lost more people in the South and the Middle Belt in the two years under Buhari than we have done since 1999 to May 2015. Do we allow Arewa and their threats to those who defend and speak up for us pass unchallenged or do we stand up to them and say enough is enough? Our people have chosen the latter.
“For the avoidance of doubt, we want to make it categorically clear that under no circumstances shall we allow anyone no matter who they think they are to threaten Fani-Kayode. Nothing must happen to him or any member of his family.
“We call on the law enforcement agencies to take notice of such needless threats from AYF as we are more than ready to respond adequately and commensurately to any action the Arewa Youths might be planning to take. Enough is enough!” the group said.

INNOCENT PASSERBY KILLED BY A STRAY BULLET IN IMO STATE
A man identified as one Remigius Enwerem was on Friday, killed by a stray bullet allegedly fired by one of the policemen brought in by two brothers battling over the leadership of Banana Junction motor park at Amaifeke in Orlu Council Area of Imo State, with their younger sibling.
According to the Sun, the police team was allegedly brought by the Ozioma and Ozoemena Agubata group to apparently dislodge the boys of their younger brother Nkeonyere from the park.
It was gathered that the battle for control of the park between the three siblings started in February when another innocent passer-by was also hit by a stray bullet when the siblings also clashed. But it was learnt that Nkeonyere Agubata had spent his personal money to treat the gunshot victim to save his life.
It was further learnt that the two elder brothers, who allegedly have the backing of another local strongman (names withheld), were not comfortable with their younger brother’s control of the motor park.
With the ardent backing of the local strongman, Ozioma and Ozoemena stormed the park with a horde of thugs and about 40 policemen led by the Area Commander who promptly arrested some of the boys working for Nkeonyere. Recounting what led to the tragic death of Mr Enewrem, a source told Sunday Sun:
"The battle over the park by the three siblings of the same parents began last Sunday (May 14) when Ozioma and Ozoemena with their boys came with about 40 policemen led by the Area Commander and arrested Chukwuebuka Amadi, Onyemauche Mba, Uchechukwu Okafor, Chinedu Okafor and Abraham who work for Nkeonyere at the park. After, the police had taken them away Ozioma and Ozoemena then put their boys at the park. But when the police left, Nkeonyere returned to the park with more of his boys and sacked the boys of his elder brothers from the park and took effective control."
On her part, the wife of the embattled chairman of the motor park, Mrs. Chiamaka Nkeonyere Agubata disclosed to Sunday Sun that in the early morning of Friday, the two elder brothers came to their house with armed policemen to arrest her husband.
"Around 5 am on Friday, Ozioma and Ozoemena came with armed policemen to our house and asked for my husband. I told them that he had travelled but they forcefully entered the house and after searching the entire house they did not show me whatever they took. But before leaving the policemen gave me a written note that my husband should report to the SCID as requested by the state Commissioner of Police, but when my husband returned from his trip he discovered that some money he kept in his room was missing."
She further revealed that one of their neighours had alerted them last Sunday morning that armed policemen in five Toyota Hilux vans who were accompanied by Ozioma and Ozoemena and their boys had already surrounded their house.
"When I received the call from our neighour I told my husband because we had already left for the market at Amaifeke at Banana Junction but as Ozioma sighted him around the market he rushed at him and tried to hold him so that the police would be able to bundle him into their van but as my husband was struggling to free himself from the grip of his brother, the leader of the police team ordered that he be shot and as one of the policemen opened fire, my husband was lucky to slip out of his hands and managed to dodge the bullet which hit Remigius Enwerem, who was just passing. But instead of the policemen to assist the victim they all fled and abandoned him in his pool of blood. It was later when my husband came back that he tried to rush him to the Imo State University Teaching Hospital but he died on the way and his body was later deposited at the mortuary."
When he spoke with Sunday Sun, Nkeonyere alleged that his elders brothers were being sponsored by the local strongman, who is being driven by greed. He implored the Inspector General of Police, the Imo State governor and the Commissioner of Police to save him from being killed as his life is under threat.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, who confirmed that the National Union of Road Transport Workers had a problem at the park, said that the Area commander of Orlu had already made some arrest and the matter was being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
However, he claimed that nobody was killed and that peace had been restored to the motor park.
FATHER WHO RAPED HIS DAUGHTER FOR 20YEARS CAUGHT BY SECRET RECORDING
A father has been exposed and jailed for raping his daughter regularly for 20 years after she released a recording of him boasting about his actions. He was charged with five counts of rape which he initially denied but he was eventually convicted and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Raymond Prescott, 54, first attacked Layla Bell, 31, when she was just seven years old. Layla of Clifton, Nottingham, said her father would go from being her best friend this minute to being a sexual predator the next.
He often taunted her and made foul comments, including telling her the abuse was the "best sex he’d ever had"
In 2001, Layla, who is now married with four kids of her own, reported the abuse to police but soon withdrew charges, claiming relatives harassed her. So she waited until she had gathered enough evidence before she took the case up again. She described how her father would grope her while shouting: "I’m having sex with my own daughter" and told of how she opened up to her mother but she did nothing about it.
She said: "I told my mum but she wouldn’t even look at me or speak to me. I think she was more ashamed that she hadn’t known before. She believed me I think, but was in shock."
Her father tried to attack her again in December 2012, so she took advantage of that opportunity and recorded him as he confessed to his crimes. In the chilling clip, Prescott can be heard saying that she's the only one he enjoys having sex with.
"I can’t have sex with anyone else and enjoy it, so I want to have sex with you," her father's voice can be heard in the seven-minute recording.
Layla is heard telling him: “This is weird. It’s wrong and you know it. You were grabbing my arse in front of my friend.”
Layla passed the evidence to police in February 2013 and waived her right to anonymity. She told in detail how her father started to abuse her sexually when she was only 7 and would often rape her after everyone had left the house. He continued till she was 27. Prescott also taught Layla to drink, giving her alcohol from a young age. She started drinking heavily when she was only 14.
"The very first time he did it I was seven. He said he was proud of me for not wetting the bed and told me I was going to get a present. He took me into the bedroom after everyone else had gone to school and laid me down on the floor. He ran his hands up me and took my skirt off but I can’t fully recall what happened next. I blocked it out of my head because it happened at such a young age, but I knew it was very bad."
She added: "I remember he took me into his bed and performed oral sex when I must have been nine or ten. He would tell me it was our little secret and I was his special little girl."

I DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY FEMALE FANS SEXUALLY---KISS DANIEL
ol. Okay! At a recent concert in Warri, Kiss Daniel invited a girl on stage and the girl was practically melting, lol. They had a nice time and people said she followed him to his hotel room where the whole mater ended. Kiss Daniel has now denied that saying, everything ended on stage. He spoke to Sunday Scoop where clarified the matter. Hear him;
“I am an entertainer and it is inevitable that ladies would always come around me. However, I respect my fans a lot and I don’t take advantage of them. Some ladies could act funny but I handle them maturely. Many of the things you see on stage end there; they are all part of the show. Many of these fans are in love with the idea of who they think you are; they don’t know the real you.”
APC NEEDS TO BE REFORMED----PAT UTOMI
Pat Utomi, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), says the founding fathers of the party would reform it to correct some of its lapses.
Mr. Utomi, a professor, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in New York that the party had to be reformed to refocus it to its founding ideals.
The founder and former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) party said some of the founding fathers were more committed to building APC as an enduring political party.
According to him, however, some people are more interested in taking titles in the party, rather than building it.
“I’m a member of the APC; I’m one of the real founding members of the APC.
“Forget that because some of us committed more to building real stuff and others rushed to take titles; but we founded the APC.
“It’s not been what we thought it would be; let’s be very honest, the party has under-performed, the party’s structure has been poor.
“The party leadership has been poor; government and the party have not worked well together.
“But we shall reform it from within by God’s grace and make it work better.
“We have to wish on God’s grace and hope that things work differently. Anything that works, that will make a difference, I will do,” he said.
Mr. Utomi, a professor of political economy and former special assistant in the Second Republic government of former president Shehu Shagari, said he was not ambitious for political power.
According to him, however, he is more interested in whatever will bring relief to the Nigerians from the hardship they have faced under successive administrations.
“All my career, all my life, I’ve always been willing to do anything no matter how sacrificial it is to advance the common good of our people.
“The thing that I have never cared for is pursuit of power for the sake of power. I’m not looking for anything, I’m quite happy with the fortunes that my circumstance has brought to me.
“But if there is a serious group of people who really are motivated by one thing and one thing alone – service to the people.
“Making it a kind of life we live better, more harmony among the people of Nigeria, I will be very pleased to do anything – Councillor, President, just name anything.
“So I have no problem about engaging for serving if it will lead to real progress, not to a title, I don’t believe in titles.
“We must begin to look at leaders who don’t seek titles and who can make a difference without a title,” he said.
Mr. Utomi who is the Director of Lagos Business School, decried what he described as “the triumph of politics” and the “politicisation of everything” in the country.
According to him, “We are not thinking development, not thinking growth of our country, not thinking our children and their future, we’re thinking politics.
“Many of the people in positions of authority are so consumed by politics; they don’t think about the Nigerian people.
“I think this obsession with who is winning the next election, can take Nigeria completely away from the path of development.
“If you say ‘good morning’, they say ‘is he against Buhari, is he for Tinubu, is he a Jonathan person’; we don’t have public conversation of quality that can help us change our country for good.
“Take a very simple issue; the government is very concerned about corruption, nothing can more interest me than corruption because it’s done fundamental damage to Nigeria.
“But because of the triumph of politics, if you talk about corruption, you get the spin immediately because of the way we have managed the whole corruption issue, as a flood of issues.”

INNOCENT WATERR VENDOR KILLED BY SUSPECTED HOODLUMS IN PLATEAU STATE
An innocent water vendor was killed by suspected hoodlums in Rikkos community, Plateau State.
According to Abu Maigoro, CEO of Harufa Biomedical Services, the attackers came from a neighboring a community to attack rival hoodlums but ended up killing the water vendor who was said to be sleeping after a day long hard labour to earn a living.
Many others were injured in the attack. The rapid intervention by Neighborhood watch vigilante group and later with the combined team of security agencies, the situation was brought under control and the suspects were arrested. Read full report below:
"In every community the forces behind peaceful coexistence are parents and law enforcement agency. These two elements have different roles but they furnish synonymous results in the society. In the first instance Parents are primarily considered to be the source of discipline, moral and virtue. While law enforcement are meant to safeguard, protect lives & properties and punish law breakers in accordance with law of the land.
Therefore, the two forces can make peaceful community if every one play its role accordingly.
However, the situation we found ourselves in recent days in Rikkos community was not only unfortunate, it has exposed our unwillingness to live in peace with one another.
The killing of an innocent water vendor by some underworlds triggered unwarranted tension. Killing one person, injure many others. Though, the rapid intervention by Neighborhood watch vigilante group and later with the combined team of security agencies, the situation was brought under control and the suspects were arrested. I must commend the warriors neighborhood watch for their courage.
Few days later another story was going round that those suspects were released from detention. What is not clear to me is the facts whether the court of law or the police associated their released. Whichever way they used indicates the danger in our society. Lawless in the high order, parents abuse the Amana given to them by Allah (SA). Children are not properly trained in good spirit, Children were not given adequate moral discipline and they were not given proper orientation and education. They have became dangerous to the society, they can kill at a will and their parents will connive with the rotten ones in force to bail them out.
Now the suspects that suppose to be in the prison are back to the society as innocent. I envisioned the killings may likely continue and the counter attacks may proceed to the next level. Everyone is a potential victim.

The father of five says his friends have nicknamed him Mr Obama and he has been mistaken for the real Obama for ten years. He said:
'Some people even ask me if I am his brother. I work as a tour guide so I am always meeting new people and their reaction is always the same. As soon as they see me they say: "Oh my God, you look just like Obama!"'I find it very funny and I don't mind posing for photographs with people. I have at least 15 photographs and selfies taken every day.'He says he has never worked as an Obama lookalike but would consider the opportunity if it comes knocking. More photos below...
