The patrol team of FRSC Sagamu Unit Command today rescued a man who was trying to commit suicide by hanging himself on a tree. While on routine patrol, a team of FRSC officials from Sagamu Unit were informed by an okada rider that an unidentified man was attempting to take his life by hanging on a tree. The team, led by Assistant Route Commander Igoche, immediately rushed to the location inside a bush along the Lagos - Ibadan expressway. The patrol team found the man in an unconcious state. The FRSC

COURT ADJOURNS NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPER, EVAN'S FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT CASE TILL JULY 27TH
The N300 million fundamental Human rights enforcement suit filed against the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Lagos state commissioner for police Fatai Owoseni, by suspected notorious kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans, has been adjourned to July 27th. Also joined in the case are the Nigeria Police Force and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command.
The presiding judge, Justice Chuka Obiozor, declined entertaining the case today on the grounds that counsel to the notorious kidnapper, Olukoya Ogungbeje, was yet to pay the punitive cost of N20,000 awarded against him at the last court hearing.

“It is alleged that the deceased was attacked at her home by unknown suspects who broke into the house and shot her several times before fleeing the scene. The deceased’s mother managed to escape from the house unhurt‚”
"The deceased is identified as Nare Beanice Malebana‚ who was a Grade 12 learner at Jim Chavani High School at Xikundu village.”
The motive for her murder was still unclear. Ngoepe said a manhunt had been launched for the killers.

Two women who stripped and tortured a disabled man in a 'gratuitous' attack lasting 24 hours have been jailed.
Tanisha Williams and Paige Springer, both aged just 20, dunked the man in a cold bath, strangled him with a rope and electrical cord and threatened him with an electric drill.
Jailing both for two years and four months a judge said it had been "a sickening case."
The 27-year-old victim, who has learning difficulties and lives in supported housing, had met Williams via an online dating site and believed they were in a relationship.

After three weeks of communication silence, abductors of six pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, have contacted some parents of the victims again.
Punch Metro learnt yesterday that the kidnappers also allowed the parents to speak with all the children, promising that they would be released soon.
It was gathered that the kidnappers did not request that the parents or the government pay any additional ransom. The children had spent 41 days in captivity as of Wednesday.
Three days after notifying the college of the attack, the gunmen broke into the boys’ hostel around 6am on Thursday, May 25.

DESPITE DENYING SUING THE POLICE, COURT TO HEAR EVANS' CASE JULY 13
The Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed July 13 for hearing in a N300m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans, against the Inspector-General of Police.
Evans, through his lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, filed the suit last week urging the court to order the police to charge him to court or release him immediately.
He urged the court to award N300m damages against the police in his favour for his alleged unlawful detention without being charged to court.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), on Wednesday said the Federal Government would publish the names of treasury looters intermittently after it must have met some conditions.

Justice Hadiza Shagari gave the order while delivering judgment in a suit filed against the Federal Government by a human rights advocacy group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project.
