FOOTAGE OF ROBBERY AT AYM SHAFA FILLING STATION IN APO,ABUJA

While all of us slept last night Tuesday 30th, 2017, four yet to be identified robbers broke into AYM Filling Station located in Apo, just beside Shoprite in Abuja.

After gaining entrance through the window, the four robbers ransacked and destroyed some valuables and broke their way out through the door.

The video was recorded by the security camera at the filling station, two of the robbers are seen with bags they planned to load their loot into after the operation. They were also armed with weapons which they used to destroy cabinets and also torch light.

3-WEEKS-OLD BABY LEFT ALONE DIES AFTER BITTEN BY PIT BULL(DOG)

A 3-week-old was killed after one of her family’s three pit bulls attacked the baby girl while she was unattended with the dogs, according to reports.

Susannah Jean Murray was left alone in a bouncy for five minutes inside of her Michigan home when one of the dogs attacked her, according to authorities.

When an adult returned to check on the girl, she’d suffered severe injuries, including a bite to her head, which authorities said is what killed her.

One of the family’s pit bulls was then found with blood on its mouth, reports said.
Susannah was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery but she died hours later, according to reports.
Residents who lived in the Grand Rapids neighborhood told the Detroit Free Press that the dogs were a dangerous nuisance, calling them “mean and vicious.”

“I’d be scared, because when the dogs get out the fence, they used to chase us,” Hawa Abdi said. Police took all three dogs to be quarantined at the local animal shelter after the attack.

No one has been arrested in connection with the baby’s death.

Two final year female students of the Makerere University in Uganda have landed in trouble for wearing dresses that exposed their bodies. 

Two final year students of the Makerere University in Uganda have landed in serious trouble after wearing very revealing clothes to a university function which the school authority considered “indecent”.
 
The pre-tattered dresses have been making the rounds on social media since the weekend when the Finalist Education Dinner took place.
 
The two have been summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee.
 
In a letter dated Tuesday May 30, 2017, the Makerere University authorities had expressed dismay over the students’ conduct.
 
The letter, as published by Ugandan Mirror online reads, “If it is true that that person was you, your action, as a student of this university, would have contravened University Regulation 8 (2)(a) which states that, ‘Every student shall respect him/herself and behave in a manner that will not bring his/her name and that of the university into disrepute;’ and Regulation 8 (2) (d) which states that, ‘Every student shall dress in a neat and decent manner.”

The letter was addressed to one of the students who are said to have appeared in the pictures, Ms Rebecca Naddamba.
 
The Dean School of Education, Dr. Betty Ezati, reportedly confirmed the letters to have been written to the students, summoning them to the disciplinary committee.
 
She declined to disclose what a typical disciplinary action is.
 
The students have until Friday, June 2, 2017 to submit their replies to the university.

Bewaji Folashade has revealed how  she got kidnapped on her way from a movie location, last night, at Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State. According to her, she got picked up by the men, dragged on a bike and was being taken to an unknown location.

In a chat with Tunez, she said: "They kidnapped me at 10:20pm last night at Akinyemi street, while I was coming from a movie location at Akobo. It got to a stage that I had to struggle with them on the bike because they would still kill me when we get to their den.

My thought was that it is better they kill me where people can see me and take me to the hospital. When we got to where people were, the bike fell and I struggled to fight them. People heard our voices and they started coming out. That was how they fled and God saved me."

DATE FOR BUDGET SIGNING HAS NOT BEEN FIXED---PRESIDENCY SAYS

The Presidency says no date has been fixed yet for the signing of the 2017 budget by the acting president, Yemi Osinbajo. Some media platforms earlier today reported that the 2017 budget would be signed into law by the acting president tomorrow Thursday June 1st.

However the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Ita Enang, has denied the reports.

In an address to newsmen, Enang said that no date has been fixed yet as consultations regarding the budget is still ongoing.

Recall that some weeks ago, controversy surrounding who would sign the budget came up when Lai Mohammed told state house correspondents that when the senate sends the budget to the Presidency, the person to sign the budget would then be decided. 

 

Enang, in an interview with Channels TV, said that President Buhari who is currently on medical leave in the UK would be the one to sign the budget, despite the fact that he has handed over power to Osinbajo by virtue of the letter he wrote to the National Assembly, announcing his travel to the UK for medical checkup. Enang however retracted his statement and said that Osinbajo would be the one to sign the budget.

INDONESIA SEEKS MORE CRUDE OIL FROM NIGERIA

Indonesia, a South East Asia emerging economy, has indicated interest to purchase more crude oil from Nigeria.

Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Harry Purwanto, who stated this in Abuja when he paid a courtesy visit to the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr Maikanti Baru, explained that his Country’s President Joko Widodo, had instructed Indonesia National Oil Company, Pertamina, to direct its attention to Nigeria in its quest to meet that country’s surging energy needs.

The call by the ambassador signifies the prospects of soaring Nigeria’s market share in Asian emerging economies which include China and India, having lost grounds in crude oil sales in the United State of America due to advances in shale oil exploration in recent years. Although Indonesia produces 900,000 barrels of crude oil per day, its supplements its 1.4million barrels per day consumption with supplies from Nigeria, 18 per cent and Saudi Arabia, 28 per cent.

Speaking during the visit of the ambassador to his office, Dr Baru, who welcomed the development, said NNPC was interested in working with Indonesia on its initiative to replace firewood and kerosene with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as primary domestic fuel for cooking.

Dr Baru said the corporation was aware of the huge success of the kerosene substitution programme in Indonesia and would like a collaboration to help Nigeria achieve a similar feat.

The GMD said NNPC would also like to partner with Indonesia in the area of bio-fuels production to diversify the nation’s energy mix and meet its energy needs.

He challenged Indonesia to consider participating in the forthcoming bid round in order to realize its aspiration of maintaining a presence in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.

The Indonesia Ambassador disclosed that his country looked forward to lifting crude oil directly from Nigeria, rather than through a third-party as is currently the case.

He extended an invitation to the corporation to grace the Indonesia-Nigeria Business Forum holding in Lagos, adding that a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, on possible areas of co-operation between the two countries was in the works.

There was violence in Ikun Ekiti, a town under Moba Local Government on Tuesday as masqueraders attacked Muslims while breaking their fast in the Central Mosque.

The attack took place at sunset around 7pm when the Muslims had gathered in the mosque to observe the Maghrib prayer after breaking their Ramadan fast.

It was learnt that the masqueraders were irked that the Muslims had the effrontery to call for prayers when they were still celebrating their Egun festival.

NIGERIAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION AND OVERSTAYING IN INDIA

PANAJI: Calangute police arrested a Nigerian national identified as Victor Igwe Amos during a narcotic raid conducted during last night at Porie Ground, Calangute. The 32-year-old resident of Lagos, Nigeria was found in possession of 190 grams of Ganja and 17 grams of Charas worth a total of Rs 50,000 in the international market.

The police have registered an offence under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act. Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi received information from reliable sources about a Nigerian national coming to sell drugs in the Calangute area. Immediately within a short period, a team was formed comprising Dalvi, police-sub inspectors Rishikesh Patil, Videsh Pilgaonkar, Prajeet Mandrekar, Sitaram Malik and police constables Swapnil Simepurushkar, Vidyanand Amonkar, Dinesh Morajkar, Yogesh Bordekar and Amir Naik, police officials said.

The raid was conducted successfully and the accused person was apprehended. "During the interrogation, it was revealed that the accused Nigerian is not having any passport or travel document. Hence after conducting inquiry on Tuesday morning, the police have registered another offence against Victor Amos for overstaying in India under section 7(1)(3) of Foreigners Order Act, 1948 R/w section 14 of Foreigners Act, 1946 and section 3(2)(a) & 6(a) of Passport Entry into India Act," a police official said.

TWO PROSTITUTES KILL CUSTOMER IN OGUN OVER MONEY

According to the police, Kudirat Raji alias Angela and Esther Basiru were said to have stabbed Olayinka with a broken bottle during an argument.

Spokesman for the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent (ASP) said the victim contracted Raji for the night but the duo had an argument over the price.

Oyeyemi said: “The victim was supervising an ongoing construction work on his property and so he spent the night at the hotel. He contracted Kudirat Raji to pass the night with him on an agreed amount but reneged on their agreement.

“His refusal to pay the agreed amount led to a hot argument between them. While the argument was going on, Esther Basiru, a friend to Angela broke a bottle and injured the deceased’s friend who was at the scene.

“Angela used the broken part of the bottle to stab the deceased on the armpit thereby cutting one of his nerves, consequent upon which he bled to death.

“The manager of the hotel alerted the police at Ifo and the DPO, CSP Anthony Haruna led his men to the scene and arrested the two suspects.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the transfer of the case to Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discrete investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.”

REVENUE CONSULTANTS BARRICADE ENTRANCE TO GOVERNMENT HOUSE IN MAKURDI

Despite the heavy downpour witnessed in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital City, a group of persons know as "Revenue Consultants" have defied the downpour and barricaded the main entrance of Government House in protest.

According to an eye witness, they are protesting alleged fraud committed against them Revenue Consultants of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. James Anbua.

The source said Hon. James Anbua fraudulently introduced Agricultural Quarantine Service to replace the usual "Produce Rates" across the state.

One of the representative of a Consulting firm whom spoke on condition of anonymity said, the ban on Produce Rate collection has forced many of their them jobless forcing them to group and stage a protest. According to him, some of their members can't even feed and take care of their family needs.

As the time of filing this report, the group of protesters were yet to be addressed by the governor or his representative.

MAN SUES WIFE FOR RECEIVING PHONE CALLS AT ODD HOURS

A 47-year-old businessman has sued his wife of 11 years at an Igando Customary Court in Lagos seeking for the dissolution of his marriage with his wife over her alleged infidelity and receiving telephone calls from men at odd hours.

Joseph Alimi is seeking to end marriage over his wife’s alleged adulterous life.

“My wife is cheating on me, she receives calls from men at odd hours,” he said.

According to Alimi, who accused his wife of going out and returning at will, also claimed that her wife abandoned her matrimonial home for one year. “My wife abandoned me and the children for one year for an unknown destination; she came back and left for another seven months,” he added.

“She was always going to parties and spending days before coming back”. According to the businessman, his wife and a son she had from another man joined group of gang to attack him in his church with cutlass, rods and other dangerous weapons.

“My step-son that I trained came to my church with his gang in order to beat me up because I beat his mother,” he said.

He urged the court to terminate the marriage, adding that he was no longer in love with his wife.

But the wife, a 40-year-old trader, Folake Alimi, on Wednesday told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos that she caught her husband making love to a girl on their matrimonial bed. The woman said this while responding to a divorce suit filed by her husband whom she accused of cheating on her.

“I came home unannounced and I caught my husband making love to a girl; he jumped up when he noticed my presence. “I also saw him with a woman in a hotel near our house when I went to buy food,” she claimed. He begged me not to expose him because of his position in the church and I kept it a secret,” the wife said.

According to her, the husband was always jealous and had often accused her of dating every man he saw her with. “My husband stopped me from working claiming men are dating me,” she said. The mother of four said that what used to cause their frequent fights was his penchant for buying things for the children of his first wife and ignoring her own.

She begged the court not to grant her husband’s wish for the dissolution of the marriage, claiming that she was still in love with him. The President of the court, Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case till June 28 for further hearing

19-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IS SENTENCE TO DEATH FOR GETTING RAPED AT GUNPOINT IN PAKISTAN

A 19-year-old woman has been sentenced to death by stoning for being raped by her cousin at gunpoint. The woman said she was sleeping at her family home in Rajanpur, in the country's central Punjab province, when her cousin attacked her.

She reported the crime to the local tribal court called panchayat but she was told she intentionally seduced her cousin.


The panchayat, which included the alleged rapist's father, then found her guilty of adultery and declared her an adulteress. She was sentenced to death by stoning or to be sold off, according to the Hindustan Times. The council at the tribal court also decided that the alleged rapist was to walk free.

The convicted woman and her father went to the police the day following the trial and the police have now launched an official investigation and issued an arrest warrant for the members of the tribal council. Another warrant has also been issued for the alleged rapist. The convicted woman has been taken to a refuge away from the village for her safety.

SECRET SERVICE INVESTIGATING GORY TRUMP PHOTO SHARED BY KATHY GRIFFIN

Kathy Griffin might have been joking when she posted a photo of what looked like Donald Trump's bloody head but the Secret Service are taking it seriously and has launched an investigation into "the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot."


The controversial photo which was shot by famed photographer Tyler Shields generated quite a lot of comments with a lot of celebrities against it and that includes those who oppose Donald Trump.

Following the backlash, Kathy apologized for the photo but Secret Service is not leaving it at that.

TMZ reports that the Secret Service does not jump to conclusions that provocative photos or writings are serious or in jest and will not automatically pass the photo off as art. They will carry out a routine investigation to conclude if the President of the U.S. is at risk. It is believed that agents will most likely attempt to interview Kathy and Tyler.
